Opera Theatre
of the Rockies Goes to School, our award-winning outreach and education
program, educates teachers and helps them integrate opera in their curriculum.
We provide support in the form of study guides, classroom visits to
discuss our shows' content and production, and in-school performances.
OTR then provides
$5 tickets to our enrolled teachers and their students to attend a full
operatic performance.
Our
goal to aid teachers in integrating opera in their curriculum is not confined
to the subject of music, but extends into science, math, writing, geography,
and language. In total, OTR has performed for more than 15,000 students
during the program's five year existence.
