Regina Davis
Mezzo Soprano Regina Davis (Mercedes) is a native of Lake Toxaway, NC and is a graduate of Converse College where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance. Regina received an Encouragement Award at the 2006 Colorado Metropolitan Opera Auditions. She was a member of the 2005 American Institute for Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, where she performed in both operetta and operatic venues. She was a semi-finalist at the Palmetto Opera Competition in Columbia, SC, the Rose Palmai Tensor Scholarship Competition in Mobile, AL and the Opera Birmingham Vocal Competition. Regina was the 2005 winner of the NC Music Teachers Association's Young Artist Competition. She was also the 2004 1st place winner of the regional NATS Competition in Washington D.C. Regina was most recently seen in Opera Theatre of the Rockies' production of Hansel and Gretel in which she performed and covered the role of Hansel. She has also sung the Malika in Delibes' Lakme, Zita in Puccini's GianniSchicchi, Cherubino in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro and Maria in The Sound of Music.
