Opera Theatre of the Rockies is a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to the advancement of opera in Southern Colorado through performance, education, and training.

Performance Goal: Opera Theatre of the Rockies will produce and present exciting and memorable professional opera that spotlights Colorado artists.

Education Goal: Opera Theatre of the Rockies will enhance awareness, knowledge and appreciation of opera in Southern Colorado.

Our award-winning outreach/education program Opera Theatre of the Rockies Goes To School was designed and implemented as a teacher education program aimed at encouraging opera in the classroom, and raising awareness about opera among teachers and their students..

Training Goal: Opera Theatre of the Rockies will provide professional training and performance opportunities for emerging artists.

In collaboration with The Colorado College, Opera Theatre of the Rockies has designed and implemented a three-week intensive training and performance program for emerging artists called The Vocal Arts Symposium. Opera Theatre of the Rockies is building an audience that reflects the diversity of the Colorado Springs community especially through the education and development of young audiences.

This website was created by generous grants from The Gay and Lesbian Fund for Colorado and The Bee Vradenburg Foundation. Opera Theatre of the Rockies was founded by internationally recognized soprano, Martile Rowland, who serves as it's Artistic Director.
