Soprano Shannon Kaye (Second Lady) last appeared with Opera Theatre as the First Nursemaid in last season's Street Scene. She is a graduate of the University of New Mexico, where she studied with Leslie Umphrey. Shannon is a first place winner of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition and a finalist in the Denver Lyric Opera Guild competition. Shannon has been a featured soloist with the Santa Fe Symphony, the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Opera Festival di Roma and Opera Theatre.
