Carl Ficarrotta earned a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Mercer University with departmental honors in music. In years gone by, he worked in several different organizations as both a staff music arranger and a director. As a trumpeter, he performed with the Middle Georgia Symphony and the Band of the Air Force Reserve. More recently, he was a chorister in the Colorado Opera Festival productions of Carmen, La Boheme, Acis & Galetia and The Magic Flute; a chorister in the Opera Theater of the Rockies productions of The Marriage of Figaro and The Daughter of the Regiment; and was featured as Njegus in the Opera Theater of Rockies production of The Merry Widow. He has also sung and been featured as a soloist with the Atlanta Chamber Singers, the Taylor Memorial Choir, Abendmusik, the Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble, Soli De Gloria, and the Colorado Springs Symphony Orchestra. When he is not singing, Dr. Ficarrotta is teaches philosophy at the Air Force Academy.
