Francisco Rodriguez was last seen by Colorado Springs' audiences as Alfredo in the Theatreworks/Opera Theatre of the Rockies collaboration, The Lady of the Camellias. He made his official debut in his native country of Mexico in 1996 at the Emiliana de Zubeldia Theater. Soon thereafter, Francisco was soloist for the nationally-broadcast 2nd Anniversary Memorial Ceremony honoring the death of the Mexican Presidential Candidate, Luis Donaldo Colosio Murrieta in Magdalena Sonora, Mexico. He has also collaborated with famed Cuban pianist, Isir Almaguer in a concert at Nogales City Theater in Nogales Sonora, Mexico, and has appeared in concerts throughout Mexico, and in Kansas, Texas, Arizona, California, and Colorado. Francisco has been featured in such operas as Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Daughter of the Regiment, Don Carlo, Eugene Onegin, and Un Ballo un Maschera with Arizona Opera, and most recently sang the role of Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte with Denver's Black Box Opera. Mr. Rodriguez has enjoyed a special relationship with Placido Domingo and his family, having been chosen to sing at the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Domingo's son, Alvaro, in Tucson. He has since had the opportunity to study with Placido Domingo, Brian Montgomery, Gail Dubinbaum, and soprano Winnie Hartman.
