Cynthia Kirkman Romoff is delighted to make her first appearance with Opera Theater of the Rockies in this production, following her debut as Senta in Der fliegende Hollinder with Opera Fort Collins. Her previous operatic performances include Mimi in La Boheme with Spokane Opera, the Governess in The Turn of the Screw with the Colorado Britten Society and the title roles in Suor Angelica and The Merry Widow and First Lady in The Magic Flute at the Lamont School of Music. Ms. Romoff has performed with Dicapo Opera and Westside Opera in New York, Opera Theatre of Lucca in Italy and on tour in New England with National Lyric Opera. Ms. Romoff's concert repertoire includes Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and Choral Fantasy with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, Mahler's Second Symphonyand the Mozart's Requiem with the Spokane Symphony. She appeared with the Spokane String Quartet, performing a transcription of the Villa-Lobos Bachianas Brasilieras No. and the Schoenberg String Quartet No. 2, Op. 10. Ms. Romoff is a past Regional Finalist in the Rocky Mountain Division of the Metropolitan Opera Auditions and recipient of the Spencer Foundation award at the district auditions.
