Tenor James Baumgardner (Daniel Buchanan) is a currently completing his undergraduate degree in Music Education with a performance certificate at Colorado State University. During his time at CSU, James has had many leading roles in Colorado State Opera Theater's productions including Sam Kaplan in Street Scene, Fenton in Verdi's Falstaff, and Tarquinius in Britten's The Rape of Lucretia. He has also appeared in supporting roles with Opera Fort Collins including Parpignol in La Boheme, and Pong in Turandot. In the summer of 2008, James was invited to perform as a studio artist in Central City Opera's prestigious Bonfils-Stanton Artist Training Program. He has again been invited back for the summer of 2009 and will be covering the role of Normanno in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor.
