Jennifer DeDominici

Mezzo-Soprano Jennifer DeDominici (Emma Jones) is a mainstay of the performances offered by Opera Theatre of the Rockies. For her portrayal of the title character in Bizet's Carmen for March, 2008 performances with Opera Theatre of the Rockies, the Gazette Telegraph stated: "DeDominici was indeed as beautiful, fiery, and sexy a Carmen as the preshow buzz promised.( she) has a sultry lower register and a smooth, silky tone that can turn angry and shrill when the drama requires it.", Westword noted her portrayal of Signora Fioria in the Arvada Center's 2007 production of Do I Hear a Waltz?, as "a gemlike performance. (her) voice is as fluid and gleaming as a deep, running stream at night." Also in 2008, Jennifer performed in the critically-acclaimed production of Nixon in China with Opera Colorado and as Sharon Falconer in an excerpt of Elmer Gantry for the Opera America National Convention. In 2007, she performed Hänsel in Opera Theatre of the Rockies's production of Hänsel und Gretel and as Aldonza in Colorado Light Opera's Man of La Mancha. She was also declared the first place winner of the Denver Lyric Opera Guild Auditions and a Regional Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. In 2009, she will also be performing Mendelssohn's Elijah with the Choral Art Society in Portland, ME. She also performed the title role in Opera Theatre's 2005's La Cenerentola. Jennifer had the distinct honor of covering the role of Carmen for Opera Colorado's premiere operatic production in the new Ellie Caulkins Theatre with Denyce Graves during November, 2005.
