2022-23 SEASON
Celebrating 25 years of opera theatre
Welcome to Opera Theatre of the Rockies 25th Anniversary Season. We are so pleased to announce a lineup of fun that began in January with a double-header of modern opera with Gallantry and Camille Claudel: Into the Fire, featuring superstar Jennifer DeDominici. The spring brought a delightful concert, Mezzomania featuring DeDominici, Stephanie Brink, Sarah Barber and Kira Dills-DeSurra for an epic-sized friendly competition. We continue the season with the Vocal Arts Festival in July with Let's Make a Scene (July 2); A Scenic View (July 9) and The Broadway Finale (July 16). Plus, we have the pleasure of presenting Blind Injustice, with the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs, a timely and poignant opera telling the story of the East Cleveland Five and others who were wrongfully tried, convicted, imprisoned and then later released thanks to the work of the Ohio Innocence Project (OIP). The work is based on the casework by OIP and the book Blind Injustice by University of Cincinnati law professor and OIP Director Mark Godsey. The story as told by a small cast, chorus and 12-piece orchestra, the opera brings to life the perseverance and forgiveness of these men and women.
We cordially invite you to our 25th Anniversary Celebration Concert on Sunday, Aug. 27 at First United Methodist Church and to a special evening honoring Martile Rowland on Tuesday, Aug. 29.
